Australian Jasper Necklace

This unique and ‘one off’ only original painting ‘Australian Jasper Necklace’ was created using a dirty flip cup pour with Global Acrylic Paint, Floetrol and Dimethicone on a canvas board.

A flip cup pour uses several layers of different acrylic paint colour poured into a plastic cup that is then flipped onto the canvas in one swift movement. The paint will be distributed by carefully moving the canvas. After the pour, the painting has to be handled very carefully for 5-8 hours to ensure that no accident is destroying the design. When the paint has completely dried, which can take up to 48 hours, any embellishment can be added.

For this pour I used the fiery acrylic colours of cool and warm red, orange, and a dash of yellow, resulting in the the whole canvas board being covered in mostly dark red cells of all different sizes looking like Red Australian Jasper that is full of warm Earth Energy. First I tried to create a field of Red Jasper but soon realized that a few single stones strung up as a chain were looking more like a precious necklace. To emphasize that is was a valuable stone, I dabbed some JaSonjas Opal Dust onto the necklace to make it dazzling and shiny.

This painting is framed with a modern black timber frame 28cm wide by 28cm high. and finished with a white mat, protected by glass. 2 D-rings and hanging wire are attached to the back and it is ready to hang to brighten up your home.
