Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Exhibition March 2019

After visiting the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Herston as a patient last year in May I admired their great exhibition space. I was telling Beatrix from our art group about my experience and we were wondering if we could arrange an exhibition for our art group. Beatrix was kind enough to manage the contact with the Hospitals Events Co-ordinator
It was almost October before we were offered an exhibition date for January 2019. As we thought we might be stressed to get it all ready just after Christmas, we asked if we could have the month of March instead. After that we didn’t hear from the hospital again and assumed our proposal was not being accepted.

While away on a short holiday I received a phone call from the hospital aking to why we haven’t started hanging our exhibition? Somehow we hadn’t received their confirmation email that our date change to March had been accepted.

There was no way that we would be able to get the art group organised for an exhibition within the next 2 days. So Beatrix and myself worked like crazy to make sure that we had enough paintings ready for hanging for the large exhibition space at the hospital. All in all we managed to hang 60 paintings in all different sizes and styles in one afternoon. I have attached a selection of the chosen paintings and can report that we have already sold quite a number off them
