Donation to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

The recent bushfires raging across Australia have taken a shocking toll on the country, and the blazes could keep burning for a long time. So far, the bushfires have killed an estimated 500 million animals and about 15 million acres have burned. The bushfires were destroying hundreds of thousands of hectares and leaving behind an untold number of dead and injured wildlife. Research has shown that Koalas could be extinct by 2050.

As the country suffered through an unprecedented number of bushfires, the plight of the koala has been front-page news abroad leading to an outpouring of public support. With the severe drought conditions and intensifying bushfires, the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital https://currumbinsanctuary.com.au/ has seen around a 20% increase in admissions from in and around the fire zones.

The hospital’s vital work of treating, rehabilitating and releasing sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife means the hospital has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world. 2019 saw over 12,200 animals, including 600 Koalas admitted into the hospital – a service that is provided free of charge to the community.

I have chosen the Currumbin Sanctuary as the recipient of the proceeds received through the eBay Auction ACEOs4AuFires and have now donated the funds to the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation

Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation is a registered Australian charity with deductible gift recipient status, which means all donations over $2 are tax deductible. https://shop.currumbinsanctuary.com.au/products/donations
