The texture of leaves and rocks have always fascinated me and always were a challenge to recreate in a natural looking way. This painting started as an fluid acrylic pour with beautiful natural brown colours in many different shades that just reminded me of the brown tones of fallen eucalyptus leave. So I collected a bunch of the colourful autumn leaves and laid them out for this painting. I used the negative painting method to give these leaves their natural shapes.
This original painting of coloured ‘Australian Eucalyptus’ is in acrylic pour on Acrylic paper. It has been protected with gloss acrylic spray to bring out brighter colours. The dimensions of the acrylic paper is A4. It is framed with a 32.5cm x 43cm modern white frame.
