Emerging Baby Turtles
Emerging Baby Turtles – Green sea turtles are one of my favourite subjects to paint. My love with turtles started during a visit to Mon Repos, where we could watch the turtles making their way from the beach to the water. Watching the baby turtle making their way to the sea is a very special experience. Hatchlings are drawn to the natural horizon light when they emerge from their nest. Any other light sources such as will confuse hatchlings, often sending them in the wrong direction. It is sad to know that only one out of a thousand will survive to adulthood. Six of the world’s seven species of marine are breeding in Queensland. But these cute creatures can be found in tropical and subtropical oceans worldwide. They migrate long distances to feed, often crossing entire oceans, before returning home again to nest.
This original painting started with a fluid acrylic pour with the colours of the ocean on 30cm by 43cm acrylic paper. It is unframed but comes supplied with a 40cm x 50cm white mat and backing board. The size of the painting fits perfectly in any 43cm x 53cm size commercial frame. This way the painting is affordable and great for gifting. They offer endless possibilities to create unique gallery displays in your home and will brighten up your home or office for many years to come.
