Australia Day Bushfire Appeal
Today January 26 the Forest Lake Ward invited people for a free BBQ and drinks down to the lake to celebrate Australia Day offering them the opportunity to donate for the Bush Fire Appeal.
As I also wanted to help this good cause I offered one of my first Forest Lake landscape to be auctioned off for this good cause.
This painting was the last paining of a Forest Lake landscape in my possession. All others had been sold over the years.
One of my other Forest Lake paintings was in the possession of a friend and she kindly offered to donate her painting also for the good cause
Both paintings were auctioned off today in a silent auction. The Forest Lake Bridge found a new owner for $120.00 and the Forest Lake Dragon attracted a bid of $100.00
I also donated several Greeting Card to buy and the profit of the sale would also go into the funds of the Bushfire Appeal. Lots of people bought the cards for a gold coin donation as a minimum. Some bought 5 cards in one go, so at the end I could add another $50.00 to my donation.
I am happy to report that I could donate the value of $270.00 to the bushfire appeal by donating my artwork for this good cause.
